Who knows what ascends from the Deeps...

Macey is really quite ordinary, if you ignore that she's a kelpie princess living on land. Still, her life is boring until she gets kidnapped by a man who doesn't quite know why he kidnapped her. Try and figure that one out.

Thankfully, he and his two companions are prepared to help her find out why she can't return to Earth from their house in the Mists. Now the only problem is that Macey keeps getting distracted by the three mysterious and very sexy men....

A reverse harem romance drenched in Scottish mythology.

First time listening to a book by Skye and Laura, i have listened to them separately but From The Deep is my first from them both and what a book. There were some moments that bought the heat and it felt wrong to be listening on a bus full of people.

Now i was dubious about a male narrating a woman perspective story but the fact that it has a lot of male voices made the experience worth while. Angus' different character voices for each male role was floorless and the ever so slight feminine edge he gave the overall book made for a fantastic experience. I am very much looking forward to listening to his soft tones again. A must listen to in my mind.

Story with heat

I've read several books by both authors and for those of you that have done the same: they really have bought out the best in one another here. The plot is meatier, the supporting characters have more depth, it's steeped in gaelic lore and has more steam than I've experienced in any of their solo writes I've read!

It's a bit weird having a male narrator read from a woman's POV, but he has an amazing, droolworthy voice.

There is a sense of it building to something greater throughout the book and I know it's the first of a larger series so I look forward to reading/listening to more.

More than the sum of it's parts

I read and listen to a lot of paranormal but this was my first Kelpie. The story had everything I liked, hot men, mystery and a strong female MC but I just didn't feel connected to the story. The narrator did an excellent job with the multitude of characters and separating their voices which helped a lot. I think in the end it was because there was so much information to process plus many scenes kept playing in her head. Which made it hard to grasp what was really happening and why. I did love how it was very unique in an already imaginative genre.

Fantastic story and characters, I was hooked from beginning to end and can’t wait for more. Plenty of action, humor, and romance. Loved the narrator! It was my first time listening to this narrator and I certainly hope it won’t be the last. I loved listening to his performance and the different voices he used for each character. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Loved this paranormal RH listen!

Normally, I'm not a fan of a male narrator reading a book that is told from the female MCs perspective, but it did not bother me with this book. The narrator is amazing. He has a Scottish accent which added so much to the story and helped with the pronunciation of a lot of the Scottish words/phrases throughout the book. This book/series is based on Scottish mythology and focuses on the Legend of the Seven Wardens for the 7 elements (fire, wind, earth, water, air, lightning, and ice). Macey is a Kelpie princess who is "accidentally" kidnapped by Camdan. She wakes up to find that she has been transported to the house that Camdan shares with Flint and Jared. She finds out that Camdan "took" her because he felt a connection to her. We eventually find out that Camdan and Flint think that she is the warden for the Water element, Camdan is the warden for Wind, Flint for Fire, and Jared (who is an incubus) is the warden for Earth. Macey is attracted to each of the men and they all decide to begin a journey to try and learn more about legend of the Seven Wardens. This is the first book of the series, so it provides some of the background information for the series storyline and it does end with a cliffhanger. For me, this storyline is a really unique storyline and introduced me to new characters and mythology that I've never read about before. Because of the uniqueness of the story, I was interested and invested in seeing how the story was going to progress. I am planning on reading the remaining books in this series. I hope that there will be audiobooks produced for the remainder of the books in the series and that the same narrator will be used for all of the books.
