Summary

Read by Hugh Fraser

A new Christie mystery combining love, death and melodrama blended together as only Agatha Christie can.

Gipsy’s Acre was a truly beautiful upland site with views out to sea – and in Michael Rogers it stirred a child-like fantasy.

There, amongst the dark fir trees, he planned to build a house, find a girl and live happily ever after.

Yet, as he left the village, a shadow of menace hung over the land. For this was the place where accidents happened. Perhaps Michael should have heeded the locals’ warnings: ‘There’s no luck for them as meddles with Gipsy’s Acre.’

Michael Rogers is a man who is about to learn the true meaning of the old saying ‘In my end is my beginning…’

Wonderful. Another great stand alone from the master of crime, AC. Loved it. Definitely worth a listen and narrated brilliantly.

Beautifully Written

A late stand-alone novel from the Queen of Crime, which is more like one of Ruth Rendell's novels of tortured young souls than a classic whodunnit. Beautifully narrated and very memorable.

One of Christie's best

Hugh Fraser's performance was as scintillating as ever, changing the voices to sound nothing like the usual beautiful pluminess of his voice while retaining the immaculate diction. The story lost nothing for the absence of Christie's great detectives because the final twist was literally breathtaking in its unexpected brilliance. l was truly shocked. And the writing is quite beautiful.

The shocking denouement.
