Los enanos fabrican un martillo maravilloso que regalan a Thor, con el que podrá defender a los dioses de Asgard.
Pero un día descubre que el martillo ha desaparecido. Encuentra una nota en la que el gigante Thrym dice haberlo robado y pide a Thor que le visite.
Loki el hermano de Thor es el que visita el gigante, por que este es muy miope y no les distingue. El gigante le dice a Loki que quiere casarse con su hermana Freya. Para evitar que su hermana se tenga que casar con el gigante, Loki diseña un plan y viste a Thor de novia porque como el gigante es medio ciego no se va a dar cuenta y así consiguen que el gigante les devuelva el martillo con el que Thor le mata por habérselo robado.
