Em adores her funny, glamorous dad – who cares if he's not her real father? He's wonderful to her, and to her little brother Maxie and sister Vita. True to form at Christmas, Dad gives them fantastic presents, including a real emerald ring for his little Princess Em.

Unfortunately he's got another surprise in store – he's leaving them. Will Dad's well-meaning but chaotic attempts to keep seeing Em and the other children help the family come to terms with this new crisis? Or would they be better off with a clean break – just like Em's arm?

'Jacqueline Wilson comes up trumps with this wonderful novel.' (The Sunday Times)
'Surely every girl aged between seven and eleven will require a copy.' (Evening Standard)
'Clean Break sometimes causes sniffles, but in places it's also humorous and is a wonderful read for children aged eight and upwards. Jacqueline Wilson has written plenty of books ... This is her best one yet.' (Birmingham Evening Mail)

My daughter thought this book was excellent and would reas it over and over again. Great performance from Helen Lederer and Fabulous writing by Jacqueline Wilson. I would totally recommend for 8 and above because younger children might think this book a bit sad. Thanks

Outstanding great fabulous extraordinary

I loved the fact that even though it was tough, Em stayed strong and she was so nice and grown up towards Maxie and Vita and Julie and Ellen and Eddie and Frankie and Evone and Jenny. It was a good thing to fall asleep to!

I love all books with happy endings and this one had one!😄This book has a couple of swears in it so I suggest that maybe 10+ can read it. This book creates so much emotion I just didn’t want this book to end! This book will make you laugh, want to cry, and so much more! It really helps people understand how sad it can be when parents split up. This book was brilliantly performed and brilliantly written you should definitely READ or LISTEN to this book!

Best story ever!
