Listening to this warm, inspirational audiobook made me quite emotional as I reflect on the loss of my parents. First of all the narration is impactful; speaks to my very soul. The audiobook makes sense of sentiments that we all feel as we lose loved ones throughout our lives. I was particularly touched by the information presented about grief triggers in Chapter 6. I now understand that these are abrupt reminders of loss and I can now identify them and manage my emotions in those moments.

As we journey through life we will inevitably lose people we love. For those struggling with their emotions during this difficult time, I have no doubt that this book will prove very helpful.

I was drawn to this book as my father passed just over 13 years ago. It was tough for my family as he died abruptly in an accident...and was taken from us way too soon. We were very emotionally unprepared, to say the least. And everyone has their own story, which is why I liked the book. It's written compassionately and has a personal story attached, so it's relatable. I really liked Ch 3 as it deals with relating to and interacting with someone who is dying. I've only experienced this twice in my young childhood with my grandparents, and I really don't remember much. So it was good to hear about this now for any future interactions I may have. Finally, the narrator also does a brilliant job. I found myself being comforted by her voice, which is necessary for this subject matter.

The sadness will never fully go away, but it does get easier. The author incorporates a personal story which I think is helpful in conquering that ‘no one understands’ feeling. The book helps you to find that peace and comfort that you’re searching for in the midst of your grief. I enjoyed the chapter on 5 stages of grief. Really helps you to understand the things that may feel abnormal but in reality are very common in this situation. It also gives you some helpful tips for the best ways to deal with these stages. The narrator does a good job, just enough of a soothing tone.

Very helpful in dealing with your grief
