I adored this book... so far I've found the best Anne Rice novel. Some of the ending is convoluted, but that's my only criticism. Otherwise atmospheric, enthralling, complex and a emotional Gothic masterpiece.

My wife and I listened to 3 hours of this on a long car journey, we couldnt bear to listen to any more. What we heard consisted of endless rumination on the Queen of the Damned, Those who must be Kept, Lestat and the twins. Over and over again. Tiresome, disapointing and not particularly intelliegent. It seems that the author has become tied up in the plotlines of the her world without actually adding anything new.
