Enjoyed this book as much as others in the series but was annoyed that the narrator hadn’t done his homework. It’s di- j- oxin not di-g-oxin and annik Castle not olnwick.

Some of the accents did not ring true. The Welsh accent sounded Asian and another accent soundedJapanese.

I have been slowly working my way through this seties with gaps in between. This was not my favourite as I felt there was a bit of a “recipe” that was been followed similar to earlier books. However, it was still a good story but totally spoilt by the accents the narrator attempted. They were cringeworthy!

Quite a good story but awful accents

I’m a fan of the Hill-Jordan series and am enjoying the story, but I’m getting increasingly irritated by the narration. Detective Chief Inspector Carol Jordan sounds like a slightly breathy airhead rather than the strong character she is in the books. Other characters are caricatures, and the voices are inconsistent. I probably won’t choose any more books with this narrator.
