This was a great selection of haunting stories. My favourite was definitely The Hedge School it was spooky, and creepy but had a great ending to it.
All the stories had that underlying spooky element to them which is exactly what you are looking for with an anthology of ghost stories.

D.B. West did a phenomenal job with the narration. His voice is so easy to listen to, and his female voices are fantastic which I find is more difficult for male narrators. I will definitely be listening to more books read by this narrator.

These short stories were absolutely wonderful. I was completely drawn in by each one. From the very first paragraph, each tale was so enticing, and they all had a hint of wistful nostalgia about them. They are essentially tales of ordinary people doing ordinary things, and suddenly being drawn into supernatural situations, sometimes as a help, and sometimes as a hindrance.

I love love LOVE ghost stories so these were just perfect for me. My favourite tale was The Hedge School, where a teacher gets a second chance to save a pupil from a terrible fate. I loved the history behind the school building.

DB did an amazing job of narrating these - I could honestly listen to his voice all day!

Highly recommended if you love folk horror 🐦‍⬛
