I was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, and spent my childhood in a place called Cash Hollow, which is indeed real. Cash Hollow is a narrow stretch of road situated between hills along two streets: Lake View and Austin Springs. Growing up in the heart of the eighties, I believe it was one of the best eras for a young man to experience life. Cash Hollow had its quirks; it carried a notorious reputation for crime and violence dating back to the thirties and forties. My father even discovered some old newspapers from the Johnson City Press, highlighting numerous crimes associated with Cash Hollow Road.

Adjacent to Cash Hollow are several neighboring hollows that penetrate the wooded landscape, leading to regions with sand dunes and clay hillocks. This area has always seemed unusual to me. During my childhood there, I encountered animals that were larger than the typical sizes found elsewhere, alongside a plethora of snakes, both venomous and non-venomous, otters, snowy owls, bobcats, and peculiar creatures such as prehistoric-looking mud turtles and enormous spiders. One particular location in Cash Hollow has consistently fascinated me: a grand house situated high on Mosier Road. Constructed by a wealthy individual, it was left incomplete after he supposedly ran out of funds. Some say it is haunted, inspiring the audiobook you’re about to listen to. This story explores the legends and ghost stories that have arisen over the years, which might contain kernels of truth. However, I must admit that I have witnessed unexplainable phenomena in that hollow. Thus, I felt compelled to intertwine those stories into the "Shadow Man of Cash Hollow"; I won't delay you further—just keep in mind that some of this is rooted in real events.
