I am a lifelong public servant who has built my life around family, integrity, and service to the community. I value hard work, accountability, and compassion. Being the coroner is not just a job to me, it is a career led by my passion for ensuring quality death investigation and providing the highest level of service to our community.
The Ada County Coroner is the elected official who is ultimately responsible for signing out death certificates with cause and manner of death. It is imperative that the coroner has experience with accurately completing death certificates, understands all facets of a complete death investigation, and ensures the responsible use of resources. I have been preparing for this role my entire career. Ada County doesn’t need someone figuring it out on the job.
- Affiliation with Idaho's only medical school, bringing forensic pathology education to student doctors and needed funds to Ada County.
- Oversaw acquisition and installation of CT Unit.
- Brett recruited and acquired a new forensic pathologist.
- Established a professional relationship with Forensic Pathology Services for part time physicians.
- Created a relationship with the Ada County Medical Society to educate physicians on the signing of death certificates.
- Advanced Medicolegal Investigator training, methods, and capability.
- Authored and distributed a white paper on the Modern Coroner to raise the level of professional practice for Idaho Coroners.
- Educated Idaho coroners on accepted practices for medicolegal death investigation.
- Established alternative revenue streams to supplement ACCO.
- Implemented new call vehicles with off-road capability and power cots.
- Implemented new safety practices in forensic operations.
