The White House is assessing its security measures after the shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday night. The White House is expected to convene a meeting of top administration officials to discuss safety procedures for the president and decide if additional measures need to be taken. President Trump has also called for backing of his White House ballroom project in the wake of the attack.

“We’re always monitoring operations and procedures, always asking the tough questions to ensure the president is safe,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters during a Monday briefing. “We’re always looking for ways to improve security.”

The White House also came out strongly against violent rhetoric, claiming it is the cause of political violence against the President.
