Come, Follow Me Moms Podcast April 13–19 | Exodus 14–18 Stand Still and See the Salvation of the Lord | Red Sea, Manna, Trusting God in Motherhood Episode Overview Hey mamas, welcome back to Come, Follow Me Moms. This week we are diving into Exodus 14–18, and wow… this is a powerful one. The Israelites are completely trapped. The Red Sea is in front of them. Pharaoh’s army is behind them. There is no way out. And honestly… this is exactly how motherhood can feel sometimes. Overwhelmed Stretched thin Stuck in a situation you didn’t expect Wondering, “God… where are You?” And in that moment, God gives a message that we still need today: “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord… the Lord shall fight for you.” (Exodus 14:13–14) What We Cover in This Episode In this episode, we break down the “meat and potatoes” of this week’s Come, Follow Me lesson and apply it directly to real mom life. We talk about: The Israelites being led into an impossible situation What it means to “stand still” when life feels chaotic Why fear steals our faith How God often asks us to move forward before we see the miracle The power of daily connection with God (manna) Why we are not meant to do this alone Key Takeaways for Moms Fear lives in the future Fear sounds like: “What if this goes wrong?” “What if I can’t handle this?” But God says: Be still You don’t have to spiral, control everything, or figure it all out. You can pause and trust. You are not stuck… you are positioned God led the Israelites right to the Red Sea. That wasn’t a mistake. That was divine direction. Sometimes God allows you to feel stuck because He is about to show His power in your life in a way only He can. The miracle comes after the step of faith God told Moses to move forward… into the sea. The water didn’t part until they moved. You don’t always get clarity first. You don’t always feel ready first. Sometimes God simply says: Take the next step The Lord will fight for you You don’t have to carry everything. You don’t have to fix everything. Your role: • Stand still Trust Move when He prompts God’s role: • Fight for you Deliver you Make a way Don’t forget to praise after the miracle After the Red Sea, the Israelites sang. They praised God immediately. But how often do we move on quickly and forget? What song are you singing in your life right now? From miracles to murmuring (we’ve all been there 😅) Right after witnessing a miracle, the Israelites started complaining again. And if we’re honest… we do the same thing. This week is a powerful reminder to trust God not just in the miracle—but in the everyday moments too. Daily manna = daily connection with God God gave them manna one day at a time. Why? So they would rely on Him daily. Not weekly Not when life slows down 👉 Daily Through: • Prayer Scripture Turning your heart to Him “Give us this day our daily bread.” Jesus is your rock and your living water When the Israelites were desperate, God provided water from a rock. Jesus is: • Your stability when life feels shaky Your source when you feel empty He is what fills you when motherhood drains you. You were never meant to do this alone When Moses’ hands got heavy, Aaron and Hur held them up. Such a powerful reminder: You are not meant to: • carry everything do everything be everything Sometimes you need support. Sometimes you are the support. We need each other. A Personal Reminder There are seasons in life where you feel completely overwhelmed… weak… stretched beyond what you think you can handle. But God meets you there. He is with you always. And there is no shame in needing Him. Questions to Reflect On This Week Where in your life do you feel trapped right now? Where do you need to stand still and trust God? Where is He asking you to move forward in faith? Where have you already seen Him fight for you? Final Encouragement Mamas… The same God who parted the Red Sea is the same God who is in your life right now You are not alone You are not forgotten And He will make a way If This Episode Helped You If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who needs this reminder. And if you haven’t yet, leaving a review helps more moms find this podcast and feel less alone in their motherhood and faith journey.
