I enjoyed the story, but the recording was so very quiet. no matter what device I used I needed to max out the volume and even then there were parts I couldn't hear well.

What a super listen! Gripping and paced yet calming and measured. Wonderful narrator could listen to him all day. Downloading book 2 in the series immediately

Murder mystery at its best

Haunting, so atmospheric. The huge class differences of the 1950’s are so eloquently explored in this melancholic story. I could smell the poverty, feel the damp and depressing November days and taste the bread and dripping, cold from the larder. It’s not a satisfying tale but incredibly moving.

Not bad, quite enjoyable but was hoping for more of the horror/thriller vibes that the cover suggested. Turns out to be a fairly straight forward detective story.
