What is wrong meets what feels right in this romance set in Italy by the Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author of Deep End.

Maya Killgore is twenty-three and still in the process of figuring out her life.

Conor Harkness is thirty-eight, and Maya cannot stop thinking about him.

It's such a cliché, it almost makes her heart implode: older man and younger woman; successful biotech guy and struggling grad student; brother's best friend and the girl he never even knew existed. As Conor loves to remind her, the power dynamic is too imbalanced. Any relationship between them would be problematic in too many ways to count, and Maya should just get over him. After all, he has made it clear that he wants her gone from his life.

But not everything is as it seems - and clichés sometimes become plot twists.

When Maya's brother decides to get married in Taormina, she and Conor end up stuck together in a romantic Sicilian villa for over a week. There, on the beautiful Ionian coast, between ancient ruins, delicious foods, and natural caves, Maya realizes that Conor might be hiding something from her. And as the destination wedding begins to erupt out of control, she decides that a summer fling might be just what she needs - even if it's a problematic one.

It's officially Problematic Summer - and readers can't get enough:

I love how it made me feel like I was possibly going through heart failure. Top tier yearning.

It was wholesome and filled with love.

Great Hazelwood book, but the narration for this was horrible(mmc). Although for the first time I a Hazelwood FMC that was greatly casted.

Read the book, the audio isn't worth it

I love the contrast of the two main characters and the build up over time. The inner turmoil of Conor is palpable. The female narrator is fantastic. She has so much charm and portrays every emotion in such detail. The male narrator is fabulous as well, his accent is lovely, although a bit too breathy at times. I could not stop listening.

Another winner

I absolutely ate this up, I love that I did this book all in audio as I loveddddd Conor’s voice! I didn’t enjoy when the Scottish accent was done as it didn’t sound the best🤣 but everything else was great!

Loved this!!

Another great story from Ali Hazelwood. I struggled with the audiobook- it sounds like Maya and Hark’s parts were recorded in entirely different studios at different times (usually I can’t notice this) and the change in what sounded like volume/closeness to the microphone was quite hard to listen. The accents are atrocious but you get used to them!

Fab story, problematic performance
