THE STUNNING CONCLUSION TO THE GUILD HUNTER SERIES BY NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR NALINI SINGH

Elena and Raphael return for the hauntingly poignant conclusion to New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh's genre-defining Guild Hunter series.

A thousand years.

It's been a millennium since Elena's fateful first meeting with Archangel Raphael. She has survived war and loss, experienced beauty and cruelty. But no matter what, she has always held on to her mortal heart, as she and Raphael have held on to each other. Passionate and vibrant, they've built a life that has stood the test of time, growing ever stronger with each turn of the sun.

But change is coming-of a magnitude they could have never imagined-and it will forever alter the trajectory of their existence.

Even as they grapple with the cataclysmic shift in their personal lives, the Cadre of Ten, which has maintained a hard-won peace for centuries, begins to simmer with dangerous fault lines. The spectre of madness looms in one archangel, the promise of war burns between two others, and in darkness far from mortal and immortal eyes stirs an ancient, slumbering power.

Suddenly, the future is terrifyingly uncertain . . . at the very moment that Elena and her archangel need to protect a treasure infinitely more precious than eternity.

If you've listened to the other books, get this one. But there isn't much in the way of plot. It is just tying up every loose end in existence and making you feel very very happy while dragging you on an emotional roller coaster. Set so long after the previous books, you get to find out what happened to old mortals, meet new immortals, and find out who became an almost immortal in this fancy and long epilogue. It does take a long time to clean up all the ends to the 17 previous books!

So, go get it!

Epilogue to an amazing series

This book is just wonderful, more of an epilogue than a dramatic end (thank goodness, personally) giving us a chance to see how everything turns out for these characters in which we’ve invested nearly 20 books of a wild ride.

This was the 3rd time I’ve reread / listened to this series, partly because there is something reassuring going back to great stories I love when I’m stressed or anxious and Nalini’s series are way up there for amazing stories, characters and world building that have you rooting for 20 characters before the end of the first book!

And partly in preparation for the final book, I wanted everything to be fresh in my mind as we come to the end of one of my favourite series, and I’ll be honest I was worried what Nalini was going to do to us in the last book, because as we know she’s not afraid to be dark - nearly every character, prior to this book, has some dark trauma to deal with and the whole series has been a rollercoaster of emotion.

But while there is indeed a lot of emotion in this book, it is largely a joyful emotional journey through the lives of the characters we’ve loved for years. Just a wonderful end to an amazing series.

I’m gutted it’s over I could stay in this world “into eternity” as Elena would say. And I hope with all my heart that Nalini will soon throw us into a brand new epic urban fantasy world to rival both this and her fabulous Psy series 🩷

Finally huge props for the amazing narrator Justine Eyre, who’s brought these character’s to such vibrant life, across 18 books and many years! What an amazing narrator you are - you’ve given all our characters such distinct ‘voices’ bringing each of them to individual, and vibrant life. Thank you for making listening to this wonderful series a wonderful experience. 🩷

Loved the story, she never lets us down. Sad for this collection to come to an end, but hoping that she will have another collection to come.

This book covers a lot of people and a great deal of time. It jumps around the timelines of all of the other books and touches on the lives of many who was important to those timelines.
I found this a gentle book to listen to, and it came to an open ended conclusion.
There could be more books in the future, spin off series books or nothing more, its been left at that sort of place.
I think this is a book that needs to be listened to more than once to really catch everything that is mentioned as its happening, some things are only mentioned so fleetingly it may be missed, unless they are brought up again later in the book.

A gentle end

Oh I may be very biased but I imagine everyone that gets to book 18 of the series is. Beautiful last book. Includes all the characters, catch up with the years past and then to the future 😍✨
